Next stage in shaping Brentford's future to go out for consultation

You may be aware that LB Hounslow are now carrying out studies which will have a very significant impact on the future of our community.

The local authority has retained consultants, Allies and Morrison, to help develop their thinking.

A Draft Vision for Brentford Town Centre has already been subject to public consultations, which closed on 15 March.

The timetable for this part of the study was very compressed. Brentford Voice unsuccessfully asked LB Hounslow to extend the time available for this consultation

The next stage is for the Vision to be developed through a "master planning" study which will again be subject to public consultation.

This will include a detailed examination of a wide range of issues including housing, employment, transport, heritage, arts and culture, and sustainability (including climate change and energy matters). The timetable for this part of the study should be announced within two weeks.

Once the timetable has been announced, Brentford Voice will host one or more virtual "local conversations" on the main issues. We will announce the date(s) in due course. These conversations will be solely for members of the wider community in Brentford. Local councillors and officers will not be invited to take part.

If you think that, in principle, you would wish to attend one or more of the local conversations then please let us know by sending an email to [email protected] An indication of numbers would be of great assistance in planning for the event(s).

In the meantime:

A copy of the Draft Vision for Brentford town centre cab be found below. There will be no further public consultation on the contents of this document.

A copy of Brentford Voice's submitted comments on the Draft Vision is also attached.

We would encourage you to read at least some of both these documents. We hope that they will provide useful background information.
