A new social media guide has been compiled for Brentford FC supporters to follow.

In partnership with Kick it Out as part of their #TakeAStand campaign, the club's Non-Executive Director and Champion for Diversity and Inclusion, Monique Choudhuri, pledged during the Black History Month webinar that a new social media policy would be introduced.

Brentford FC said it is aiming to become the "most inclusive club in the country, one where all our fans and staff feel welcome and valued".

It is committed to encouraging fans to use social media in all matters relating directly to the club in a responsible way.

The aim is to make the Brentford community a safe place for discussion, debate and opinion.

The club said: "When engaging with social media relating directly to the club - whether that's through our official social media channels or elsewhere - we ask our fans to behave in a manner that's in line with the club's stance and commitments, as set out in our Diversity and Inclusion Policy.

"In particular, we encourage fans to behave towards others in a way that's consistent with the principles of fairness, respect and tolerance and to refrain from any discriminatory or racially abusive comments."

The social media guide can be read here.
