A man has been charged with attempted murder after a car crash in Hounslow over the weekend that hospitalised four men, two of whom suffered critical injuries.

Choudry Qamar Azad Razaq, 24, appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court today (Tuesday, September 27).

The Hounslow resident has been charged with four counts of attempted murder and driving whilst disqualified.

His appearance in court follows a hit-and-run in Hounslow in which four pedestrians were struck by a car in Kingsley Road close to its junction with Taunton Avenue.

Police were called to the scene at 2:43am on Sunday on reports that four pedestrians had been struck by a car.

The pedestrians, all men aged in their early 20s, were taken to hospital while detectives launched an urgent investigation to identify the driver of the car who fled the scene.

Shortly before 7pm on Sunday police arrested a man, 20, at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of attempted murder.

A second man was arrested nearby on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police have not identified 24-year-old Razaq in connection with these arrests - one of whom has now been arrested for perverting the course of justice and been bailed pending further enquiries.

The second man arrested for assisting an offender has been released under investigation.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
