AFTER a difficult academic year affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Year 11 students at Isleworth & Syon School have been celebrating their fantastic results earlier today (August 12).
The top performer was Arjun Notay, who earned the school's best-ever GCSE results, with a clean sweep of 9s – receiving 10 in total.
He will stay at the school's Sixth Form, where he will study Maths, Physics and Engineering at A Level, in preparation for an Aeronautical Engineering degree that will lead him to becoming a pilot.
Matthew Nunan, Bryn Horton and Lorenzo Piola all earned a staggering 21 9s between them.
Several students have used the careers advice the school has given them to plan future careers in the sciences.
Hamza Lodhi aims to study Aerospace Engineering, while Ahmed Mustafa is pursuing a career in Medicine.
Both will start studying science subjects at A level in September.
Meanwhile, Alexander Pandey will use his excellent grade in Computer Science to take A levels in that subject, along with Maths and Physics, so that he can become a computer programmer.
Finally, Hussain Al-Skafi earned fantastic grades to study Economics, History and Physics in the Sixth Form, with the aim of becoming a lawyer.
Headteacher Mr Ferguson commented, "My congratulations to the students for this fantastic set of results.
"As they move into the Sixth Form, we will do everything we can to support them with their next steps – whatever they may be.
"I would also like to thank my staff who have gone above and beyond throughout the last year, including becoming the examiners for this talented cohort."
This follows the brilliant A Levels results that Isleworth & Syon students received earlier this week.
