MISSING appeals are usually a very serious matter, but in this case, Hounslow Police have decided to look at the funny side of things.

The parrot pictured has flown into a property in Hounslow and is refusing to leave.

Hounslow Police are trying to locate the bird's owner and released a pun-filled statement across their social media pages to grab people's attention and hopefully reunite it with its owner.

The post said: "You may think we are crackers but do you know this Walkie-Talkie?

"He's flown into an address in Hounslow and is becoming a bit of a Bird-en.

"We tried a Poly-graph but he wasn't giving anything up.

"A-parrot-ly he belongs to a Mr M Lee, if you know the owner tweet us or @MetCC."
