Hounslow man jailed for 18 weeks for assaulting two police officers

A HOUNSLOW man has been sentenced to 18 weeks in prison for assaulting an emergency worker.

Anthony John Cross, 49, of Standard Road, was jailed on Friday, July 23, for two counts of assault on an emergency workers and actual bodily harm.

Officers were called to a shop on Inwood Road on May 31, after reports of assault.

Cross was arrested by PC Gonzalez and while being detained, he kicked the officer in the leg twice.

He also bit PC Smiley on the right arm, causing the skin to break and bruising.

The court said: "Cross was committed to prison for the assault on the police officers, because of the deliberate attack on a public servant who was carrying out their public duties."
