The council will decide whether to grant Brentford Voice a street trading license for Brentford Market In the upcoming licensing panel meeting on 31 October,

If the application is approved, the license will be valid for a duration of six months.

The responsibility for managing the market will fall to Brentford Voice, a local entity dedicated to fostering community engagement and local initiatives.

Brentford Voice plan to open the market on both Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm for locals to enjoy on weekends.

The market's proposed layout envisions the presence of 20 stalls of equal size, arranged in the plaza space adjacent to Greggs on Brentford High Street.

The application says: "Food traders may offer a wide range of food and drink, but they will not sell anything that will compete with existing outlets within 200 metres of the market, e.g., coffee and tea, sandwiches, pizza."

The backdrop to this application is the well-established Brentford Market, which has been a consistent presence in the area for the past few years.

However, the license for the market was surrendered on 18 August 2023, prompting a need for a new license to ensure its continuation.
