Hounslow Council and partners are teaming up to provide spaces and places for residents to keep warm and to keep bills down this Christmas.

In the warm spaces, residents will have the opportunity to learn a new skill says the council.

There will be a variety of offers available at different locations across the borough, from dance classes to simply accessing free wi-fi, having a hot drink, or reading a book.

Free 'warm packs' will be put together to distribute to vulnerable local people known to Adult Social Services including clothing, toiletries, door hanger room thermometers, and advice on how best to keep the fuel bills down.

Councillor Shivraj Grewal, Cabinet Member for Communities, Equalities and Culture, said: "This isn't just about saving money on energy bills, but also about providing places where residents, especially those who are isolated, will get a warm welcome from the council and our partner organisations, while at the same time, maybe learning new skills or meeting new people.

"Sadly, the cost-of-living crisis doesn't stop for Christmas".
