Care services in Hounslow are set to benefit from a £200,000 investment as part of a project to help develop greater communication in the sector.

The project in Hounslow will be in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham and not-for-profit organisation Social Finance and there will be a second project taking place in Clapton, led by Hackney and Southwark in partnership with Equal Care Co-op and Clapton Commons.

Hounslow Council will work on this project from the London Office for Technology and Innovation Adult Social Care Innovation Fund.

Genta Hajri, the project's Digital Innovation Delivery Lead, said: "We set out on this new journey in adult social care with genuine open-mindedness and intention to design a programme with our community of social care and digital leads.

"We've been inspired and overwhelmed by the positive energy and intellectual contributions from boroughs and partner organisations in all we've done to date.

"The high quality of project ideas put forward to the Innovation Fund is a testament to the commitment of the LOTI community to test new ways of meeting the ever-increasing and changing needs of our residents.

"We look forward to working with the selected boroughs and their partners and sharing the impact of these two projects next year."

Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Adults and Health Integration, Councillor Samia Chaudhary, added: "In Hounslow, we are committed to supporting those within our community who need our help the most.

"We also appreciate that our frontline social care staff are our greatest asset when it comes to delivering these services and supporting people.

"Good quality integrated data will be invaluable to our frontline staff. By working closely with others and maximising the latest technology this funding will provide – we can make a real difference to the quality-of-life issues within our borough."
