HOUNSLOW Borough has seen an increase in the number of new coronavirus cases for the fourth consecutive week.

Specifically, there was an increase of over 48% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of July 12 to 18, Hounslow Borough saw 930 new positive cases, compared to 626 the week before.

That figure represents an increase of 48.6%, with 304 more new cases.

That means there was also an increase in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 343.4, compared to 231.2 the week before.

Those figures are still lower than the average across both London and England, however.

London as a whole had 40,270 new cases during the week of July 12 to July 18, which represents 449.3 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 302,660 new cases during the same week, correlating to 537.7 cases per 100,000 people.
