HOUNSLOW Borough has seen a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases for the second consecutive week.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 19% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of July 26 to August 1, Hounslow Borough saw 689 new positive cases, compared to 858 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 19.7%, with 169 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 254.4, compared to 316.9 the week before.

Those figures continue to be lower than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 23,750 new cases during the week of July 26 to August 1, which represents 263.8 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 159,279 new cases during the same week, correlating to 281.7 cases per 100,000 people.
