HOUNSLOW Borough has seen a decrease in the number of new coronavirus cases for the first time since June.

Specifically, there was a decrease of over 7% of new cases in the latest COVID-19 figures that were released.

In the week of July 19 to 25, Hounslow Borough saw 858 new positive cases, compared to 930 the week before.

That figure represents a decrease of 7.7%, with 72 fewer new cases.

That means there was also a decrease in the number of new cases per 100,000 residents, with 316.9, compared to 343.3 the week before.

Those figures continue to be lower than the average across both London and England.

London as a whole had 29,426 new cases during the week of July 19 to 25, which represents 328.3 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

England saw 197,770 new cases during the same week, correlating to 351.4 cases per 100,000 people.
