SCHOOLS in Hounslow Borough have received a collective pass rate of 99.8% in yesterday's (August 10) A Level results.
That figure represents an increase compared to last year's figure of 97.5% and is a testament to the hard work of the students and their teachers.
Councillor Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education and Children's Services at Hounslow Council, said: "I want to send a massive congratulations to Hounslow's A-Level students for their phenomenal effort over the last year.
"Studying for A-Levels is hard at the best of times, never mind during a global pandemic!
"I hope that you received the grades you were looking for today to enable you to take your next steps in life, whether that's entering the workplace or starting a course at university, or other training.
"Today (yesterday) will be a very exciting time for many students who are moving into a new phase of life, and I wish you every luck, success and happiness for the future!
"For those of you who are still thinking about what your next move will be, or if you didn't get the grades you were expecting, there is plenty of support available to help you think through the different education, employment or training opportunities available.
"There are always options open and there are many roads to success and fulfilment, so I urge you to reach out and get that support if you need it.
"I also want to thank Hounslow's brilliant teachers and schools.
"As a teacher myself, I know how hard you've all been working, under very challenging circumstances during the pandemic.
"You have clearly gone the extra mile to provide an excellent education for the borough's children, and we see that reflected in the grades today."
