Bedfont Library in Feltham is closing today (4 December) due to ongoing power cuts in the site.

Having shut on Saturday (2 December) because of a power failure, the library was open for a "minimal borrow and/or returns service", but has since announced to close early today.

The library said: "We are sorry to announce that the power issues at Bedfont are ongoing. The library will be closed today, 4th December, while work is carried out.

"Again, we apologise for the inconvenience."

The power cut means Bedfont Library is also without its phone and computer, therefore visitors are unable to contact the library.

This comes as London libraries experience technical difficulties with the My Library App, which is used to search and reserve books across London Libraries directly from smartphones.

Hounslow Libraries said on Friday (1 December): "We are currently experiencing some issues with the My Library app. This is affecting services such as placing reservations, and doing renewals.

"The tech bods are working hard to resolve this, and we thank you for your patience.

"Please remember you can also call your local library to renew and reserve items. We apologise for the inconvenience."
