The cost of free school meals for eligible schoolchildren during the Spring half-term, starting next week is to be covered by Hounslow Council.
A £15 voucher will be sent by post to families who normally receive free school meals to spend on lunches during the holiday.
The vouchers will be sent out over the next week and will include children living outside the borough who attend Hounslow's schools.
The extra meals are being funded by the COVID Winter Grant Scheme.
Cllr Tom Bruce, Cabinet Member for Education, Children and Youth Services, said: "Families continue to face many pressures, which is why we're stepping in to make sure that no child goes hungry during the half-term break next week.
"Eligible families should start receiving vouchers at the beginning of half-term, which can be used against your food shopping at the supermarket till.
"If your child is eligible for benefits-related free school meals and you do not receive your voucher, please call the Hounslow Council's advice line on 020 8583 4242 so that we can help.
"If you're struggling to afford the basics, like food and essential supplies, and you need some extra support there are a number of different grants to apply for. Full details can be found on Hounslow Council's website or you can phone the advice line if you need help applying."
