It's been the talk of the town, but what is the future of the controversial new car park in Brentford High Street?
The existing structure will be incorporated within a permanent building for the site known as Plot G
Last September, Hounslow Council approved a mixed use building on Plot G with 30 flats, retail space and 519 car parking spaces as well as stacked boat storage.
The 519 car spaces within the multi storey car park are proposed to be split between residential (372 spaces) and retail (147 spaces).
Access to the car park would be from Montgomery Lane.
Work on the permanent scheme is due to start in 2022 and be completed by 2025.
The car park was originally put up without consent.
Ballymore was given permission for a temporary car park of 150 spaces at the main redevelopment site in the high street but went ahead with the construction of the nine storey building.
The developer unilaterally decided that it would be more sensible to provide temporary parking at Plot G.
They claimed this would limit potential conflicts between users of the car park and construction work and access to other development plots.
Planning chiefs gave retrospective permission earlier this year.
Since then, a mural has been painted onto the structure with images reflecting the town's culture and history.
It has received a mixed reaction from local people – some love it, others have described it as a "monstrosity".
Work is now progressing on the main development site known as The Brentford Project.
