LAST night's Euro 2020 finals was the second busiest night of the year for Domino's Pizza in Brentford, beaten only by New Year's Eve.

Speaking to The Times, General Manager Mariana Cebanu said that most people want their pizzas either just before kick-off or at half-time.

On Wednesday, July 7, as England beat Denmark 2-1, four workers made over 300 pizzas.

The football wasn't shown inside the store, "I was paying more attention to what the drivers were doing", Cebanu said.

Following the end of the semi-final match, the staff at the Brentford branch started preparations for last night's game and spent days planning to ensure that pizzas were ready to arrive hot and on time.

Cebanu said: "We have to be very organised everyone has to know what their job is.

"Mistakes happen, but we try and sort it out as quickly as possible, so the pizza gets to the customer on time.

Jason Hunt, Domino's operations development manager in the UK said it was 'always going to be a challenge' to persuade staff to work during the match.

That's why they offered staff an extra £6 an hour on top of their usual pay of £9.75.
