The future of the gates at the Brentford Dock estate will be discussed by councillors on June 10.

The planning committee will meet to decide whether to progress with a section 4 direction which prohibits the dock from barring people access to its grounds.

Brentford Dock erected the gates earlier this year to stop non-residents entering the grounds which back onto the river.

The move sparked controversy as it was argued the river should be accessible to everyone.

The dock's management says it is a private estate which residents pay a surcharge for the upkeep.
