Cllr Grewal condemns horrific attack on woman in Hounslow

Hounslow Council's Cabinet member for safety has issued a statement following the attack of a woman in Martindale Road last week.

Cllr Ajmer Grewal today (Monday, November 7) said: "I am horrified by the incident that took place last Wednesday morning in Hounslow. My thoughts and prayers are with the woman and her family.

"As a woman living in the borough I know how most of you will be feeling and I want assure you we are doing everything in our power including working with the Police and other partners to help keep you safe. The Police have increased patrols in the area.

"Violence has no place in our borough and I want to reassure residents we are working hard to making Hounslow a safer place."

A 39-year-old Hounslow resident was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with rape and murder on Thursday (November 3).
