Children's summer activities available this month in Brentford's Boston Manor Park

AN exciting programme of summer activities has been unveiled which will help children learn more about nature and biodiversity at Boston Manor Park.
Activities include pond-dipping, mini-beast bug hunts, reptile handling, learning about survival skills and shelter building.
The activities are free and suitable for children aged 5-12, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said: "It's great to hear about the fun and learning that children are benefitting from at the activity sessions at Boston Manor Park.
"These sessions are ideal entertainment for little ones over the long summer holiday weeks, so I urge you to sign up now if you'd like your child to benefit from one of the next four sessions.
"As part of the lottery-funded investment that's going into Boston Manor Park, we're determined to make the park a more interesting and accessible place for people of all ages, and these activity sessions are part of that work.
"Over the next few weeks, contractors will be visiting Boston Manor Park to carry out improvements to the lake and beyond."
The upcoming summer activity sessions being held on weekdays and weekends will be:
August 7: Walk on the Wild Side for 5-12 year-olds – 10am-12pm
• Survival skills• Shelter building
August 14: Wildlife detectives for 7+ year-olds – 10am-12pm
• Pond-dipping• Minibeast bug hunt
• Reptile hunt & handling (native and non-native reptiles)August 27: Wildlife detectives night walk for 7+ year-olds – 8.30 pm
• Bat walk with detectors
• Hedgehog hunt & ink traps identifications• Moth trapping
