Watermans Park is open to the public following a massive redevelopment project which has seen it closed for six months.

Gates to the popular Brentford park are open wide right on time to enjoy the extensive re-landscaping in the imminent summer sunshine.

The riverside park was closed in November for improvement works that include a new cycleway and footpaths, an outdoor table tennis and new exercise areas including a basketball space, an open-air gym and a yoga area.

The dilapidated boardwalk has been restored and a new pergola built to house outdoor performances and exercise sessions.

new play area designed in partnership with students at the nearby St Paul's CE Primary School includes facilities for older children.

Extensive tree, shrub and wildflower planting with spring bulbs and insect hotels have made Watermans an even greener space.

The park's famous Art Nouveau-style arch at the western entrance, with its wind chimes crafted by local children, remains untouched and heritage assets such as cast-iron caps from the gas works have been saved for display in the park.
