Brand new play area and outdoor gym at Watermans Park officially open despite vandalism

The new play area and outdoor gym installed at Watermans Park are officially open after public access to the facilities was postponed by vandalism.
Play facilities that form part of the extensive redevelopment in the Brentford park were due to open last week but damage discovered last week forced Hounslow residents to wait a little while longer while the brand new equipment was repaired.
Significant landscaping and improvement works began at Watermans Park last year, with plans for a cycle path, wildflower area, pergola for outdoor performances and restoration of the dilapidated boardwalk among the developments that have closed the park to the public for five months.
The new play equipment and outdoor gym include a basketball area and space for outdoor yoga.
A spokesperson for Hounslow Council said: "The Council will continue to monitor the site through its new Park Ranger Service.
"The Safer Communities Team also want to work with communities to keep neighbourhoods safe."
Residents who have concerns can contact the Park Ranger team at community.safety@hounslow.gov.uk
