An event will be hosted in Brentford to mark the arrival of the Baton of Hope in London on Thursday 6th July as part of a national tour to help raise awareness for suicide among young people.
The Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and West London NHS Wellbeing and Recovery College will be hosting an event at the Community Stadium Hub on Thursday 6th July to mark the arrival of the Baton of Hope to London.
The Baton is designed to be the UK's biggest suicide awareness and prevention campaign, raising the profile of the issue and starting conversations among people.
It will be going on a nationwide tour starting in Glasgow on 25th June before visiting Edinburgh, Newcastle, Sheffield, Manchester, Belfast, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, and Brighton before reaching London in July.
The event in Brentford will have guest speakers on subjects relating to suicide and mental health, as well as giving people information about resources that are available locally.
Suicide is the biggest killer of men and women under 35 years old in the UK, taking more lives than traffic collisions and cancer.
