A boy from Boston Manor who shaved his hair off in a Brentford pub was named a Hollywood Hero for his fantastic fundraising work.

Nine-year-old Sam Edmonds was welcomed to Brentford Community Stadium as the Hollywood Hero for Brentford FC's match against Aston Villa.

Sam raised nearly £3,000 for food banks in Hounslow and Ealing after he came up with the idea to grow his hair for charity.

He took on the challenge of growing his hair for the last two years then, in early December, cut it all off in front of a pub audience at Brentford's Magpie and Crown.

Brentford FC said: "We would like to thank Sam for his great effort in such difficult times.

"For someone so young to have the drive and determination to help his community in this way is inspiring - he is a true Hollywood Hero."

Hollywood Heroes was launched in conjunction with Brentford FC's principal partner Hollywoodbets, to highlight and reward the positive impact of volunteers and individuals in our local community.

If you would like to nominate a Hollywood Hero, contact [email protected] and request an application form.

Other Hollywood Heroes this season have been, Housing provider A2Dominion and the Hounslow Community Foodbox.
