The consultation period for a plan designed to help tackle flooding in Hounslow is still open – but not for long.
As local councils are required by law to update their Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) every six years, Hounslow Council is working to update the plan it produced in 2015.
In July 2021, Hounslow had 30-40mm of rainfall and experienced a number of flooding incidents as a result.
The Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) approved by Hounslow Council last year identified 15 'High' flood risk hotspots, including in West Brentford, from a total of 35 across the borough. Within these areas, 3,863 properties are predicted to be at risk from the 1 in 100-year surface water flood event in Hounslow.

To inform how the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) is updated this year, the Council developed a short survey which residents can complete.
But the window for residents to share their views will soon close, with the deadline to contribute views set for Monday (June 20).
Click here to complete the short Flood Survey or submit comments to Hounslow Council in writing by email or post (quoting LFRMS Consultation).
