Brentford's festive fun weekend has been heralded a huge success as many residents and neighbours visited the town centre and over £350 was raised for the local food bank.
Despite the rainy weather, an estimated 100 people attended the tree lights switch-on, which was carried out by Brentford FC legend Marcus Gayle, club mascot Buzz and Bees superfan Woody.
Natalie, mum of Woody who has Down Syndrome, commented after the evening events on Twitter about being part of the Brentford community.
Natalie, who runs Teddington charity Park Lane Stables, said: "I speak as the mum of a boy who I was told would have no friends & achieve nothing.
"Well, tonight he turned on the Christmas lights in Brentford with legends from Brentford FC.
"Always believe & aim high there is no ceiling anything is possible when u r surrounded by kindness & love."
Martin Case of Brentford Voice estimated that a further 500 people turned out for the Sunday market in Brentford Market Place.
Live music from locals Paul Kissaun, Marky Dawson, Trade Only and The Rigmarollers featured throughout the day.
Before the official lighting up of the tree on Saturday, Brentford School for Girls Choir sang songs from Frozen.
Martin said: "The weekend was a huge success with approximately 100 people in attendance for the tree lights switch on despite the poor weather conditions.
"The bands were a huge success and they certainly raised peoples Christmas spirits.
"The Hounslow FoodBox also raised over £350 pounds and some Christmas treats and toys on their stall so the Brentford community were as always very giving and generous."
