Brentford Christmas Celebration returns this weekend: Schedule and performances

Brentford's festive fun, Christmas weekend returns for a two-day, jam-packed celebration in the heart of town.

The event will be sure to get you in the seasonal spirit, featuring the turning on of the Christmas tree lights in Market Square and appearances from special guests.

Celebration organisers said: "Great things happen when a community bands together, but magic happens when an entire town works together, we're ready to wow this weekend and create a taste of true Brentford hospitality!"

Saturday, 11 December

11am: The spirit of Christmas will descend on Brentford to kick off events with The Brentford Project's Crafty Christmas Day. A whole host of Christmassy activities are on offer with a packed itinerary of arts and crafts activities for all ages to enjoy. 11am – 4pm: The Ballymore Christmas Grotto, Catherine Wheel Road. 4.30pm: Everyone is invited to gather in Market Place where the Brentford School for Girls Choir will entertain us with songs from Frozen. 5pm: The official switching on of the lights on a splendid Christmas tree donated by Ballymore. This will be performed by Brentford FC's biggest fan Woody, supported by Brentford legend Marcus Gayle and club mascot Buzz, do be there for the countdown!

Sunday, 12 December

11am – 3pm: Brentford's much-loved regular Sunday market returns to its usual venue the Market Place. This will be set around the Christmas tree for a festive market, with a range gifts, arts, crafts, and food stalls. There will be live music from local artists playing throughout the duration of the market, with something for everyone to get festivities well and truly underway – shop and rock! 2:30pm – 5:50pm: The Magpie and Crown will run a Christmas wreath making workshop. 6pm: More live music from Alix Anthony. Hounslow FoodBox will have a stall at the market, and will welcome donations of food, toiletries, festive treats such as selection boxes, toiletries sets, and small new toys and treats for school children.
