ORGANISATIONS planning a public event this winter should apply for funding, urged Hounslow Council.

Community events across Hounslow are eligible to receive funding through the Welcome Back Fund, in a council bid to showcase local business.

The fund, which recently supported the Brentford Creative Mile, is available until March 2022, and the council is particularly interested in events planned in town centres for December.

Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council, said: "I'm glad to see that hard-working organisations across Hounslow are getting financial support for creative events that bring residents together in enjoying their town centres and ease the impact of the pandemic on local businesses.

"I welcome all organisations who are planning an event this year, particularly around Christmas, or perhaps just have an idea for one, to get in touch and let us help you celebrate our public spaces.

"With shops and businesses now fully open, Hounslow Council is working to support businesses through this new phase of the pandemic, to regain custom and boost the local economy."

Any organisation in Hounslow with experience in running events in town centres that would like support for an upcoming event email: [email protected].
