A petition to overturn the decision to approve the redevelopment of the Tesco and Homebase sites was delivered to the Housing Secretary by Osterley residents' association on Monday, 27 September.

Osterley & Wyke Green Residents' Association (OWGRA), who were 'extremely disappointed' when the redevelopment plans were approved by the Mayor of London earlier this month, delivered the petition into the hands of a member of the Correspondence Team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, for the attention of Michael Gove.

This comes as three Conservative candidates for Osterley also presented a letter to Michael Gove, the new Housing Secretary, to 'call-in' the plans for review.

The proposals will see the Tesco site in Syon Lane, Osterley and the Homebase at Gillette Corner, Brentford turned into buildings of up to 17 storeys with up to 2,150 homes.

Campaigners must now wait for Michael Gove's decision on whether to call-in the applications.

A spokesperson for OWGRA said: "We are not getting answers to our questions on timescales from MHCLG or LBH.

"We don't know if decisions are being delayed as a result of the Cabinet reshuffle."
