Guy Fawkes Night is right around the corner (Sunday, 5 November) and Brentford Nub News has you covered on the best events around the area.

Also known as Bonfire Night, the event celebrates the failed assassination of King James I and his parliament, when Guy Fawkes was caught guarding explosives under the House of Lords on 5 November 1605.

1. Fawkes Festival - Light, Laser and Sound Extravaganza

The event listing says: "Ravenscourt Park will resonate to the sounds of especially chosen movie soundtracks sown together to create a unique soundscape, as a kaleidoscope of colour will soar across the skies when Fawkes Festival comes to town.

"This unique Fawkes Festival bonanza combines a thrilling light-laser-sound spectacular with favourite film scores and classic movie music – all picked especially and sown together to create a sensational showcase."

The event is in Ravenscourt Park, W6 0UA on Friday, 3 and Saturday, 4 November.

There will be showings at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. Tickets will give you access to the event all evening, meaning visitors can see the show as many times as they like.

2. Fireworks Night - Chiswick Rugby Club

Chiswick Rugby Football Club is hosting a fireworks display and bonfire this weekend. The team says there will be food and drink served, with Lebanese restaurant Lil' Watan catering the event.

The event begins on Saturday, 4 November, 6.30pm at Dukes Meadows, Dan Mason Drive, W4 2SH.

3. Chiswick Cricket Club Bonfire Night

Chiswick Cricket Club are remembering the 5 November by putting on their annual bonfire and fireworks display.

The event listing says: "As is tradition we will be lighting an epic bonfire and setting off a dazzling fireworks display.

"There will also be our very popular marshmallow toasting around the firepit. To add to the festivities sparklers and hot chocolate will be available to buy."

Doors open on Sunday, 5 November 5pm. The bonfire will start at 5:30pm and the fireworks display begins at 7:30pm at Riverside Drive, W4 2SP.
