Removals and storage company Alexanders has donated funds to the Hounslow Community FoodBox to support children and families during the summer holidays.
Families will receive a meal kit containing ingredients and recipes, enabling them to enjoy cooking together. Additionally, the food parcel will include a QR code that provides information about free activities for children in Hounslow.
Alex Pope, Director of Alexanders, said: "Contributing to the community is a significant aspect of Alexanders' ethos.
"We consistently strive to increase our efforts each year and encourage other local businesses to join us in this endeavour. Particularly during this crisis, assistance is crucial and holds immense value."
To further contribute, Alexanders collaborated with FoodBox volunteers to organise a free party in Hawthorn Road Park for children last Wednesday (August 9).
Jane Jenkins, a senior volunteer at FoodBox, has expressed her appreciation for the initiative.
"Bringing the community together and spreading kindness can only yield positive outcomes," she said.
Alexanders sponsored free packed lunches, consisting of sandwiches, drinks, crisps, and fruit for children. Tea, coffee, and biscuits were also provided for adults.
Children had the opportunity to choose from a variety of gifts, including skipping ropes, hula hoops, balls, bubbles, colouring books, and an assortment of sweets. They left the party with hands full of goodies.
"The event was made even more enjoyable with the presence of Buzz from Brentford FC, who captivated the crowd with his infectious enthusiasm," an Alexanders spokesperson added.
Alexanders and Brentford FC have a history of supporting the local community by providing food and gift parcels during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
