Brentford High Street petrol queues continue as stations run dry amid panic buying

By Hannah Davenport 28th Sep 2021

QUEUES were seen down Brentford High Street creating a tailback to Pottery Road, as of 2 pm today.

The queue came down from the Jet petrol station at 400 High Street, which is currently open and serving both diesel and petrol, with a £40 limit.

Residents are resorting to social media to find out about the availability of fuel in and around the area, due to the rapidly changing fuel supply situation and continued panic buying.

One customer asking for fuel at the Esso petrol station on the Great West Road had just arrived back from holiday and was unaware of the situation.

Here is an update of fuel supply at petrol stations in and around Brentford, as of Tuesday 28 September afternoon.

The Jet petrol station on Brentford High Street is currently open and serving both diesel and petrol, there is a £40 limit.

The Shell petrol station at 403-405 Twickenham Road Isleworth, had only Diesel available and no petrol, with a limit of £35, as of 2:20 pm this afternoon.

Esso Rontec Chiswick and Esso Rontec The Dome on the Great West Road are both out of fuel.

A staff member at The Dome station said they are getting asked the same question about when there will be fuel, and the answer is "we don't know".

In a Facebook post published at 1 pm today, it was reported by a member of the public that the Tesco petrol station on Grant Way, Isleworth, was closed, along with the Shell station in Osterley.

In an automated statement from Tesco petrol station they said: "We are working really hard to make sure regular deliveries happen to our stations across the UK and the situation is changing, with deliveries arriving all the time, which means staff are not able to give you information about fuel availability at your local store."
