Over 98% of children in Hounslow have been offered a place at one of their preferred primary schools by the Pan-London Admissions Board.

Monday 17th April was National Primary Offer Day and parents across the borough found out which schools their children had been accepted to.

The figures for Hounslow found that 98% of children in the borough were offered a place at one of their six preferred schools, 97% received an offer from one of their top three preferences, and 85% were admitted into their number one choice of school.

Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Children, Learning and Employment at Hounslow Council, said: "It's fantastic that over 98 per cent of children starting primary school in September will be attending one of their preferred schools, and a large majority receiving a place at their first choice of school.

"Primary school sets out the foundations for our future generations, and I want to extend a warm welcome to another new year group in our schools, which provide high-quality education. I wish all the children the best of luck as they embark on this new journey."

Primary school places in London have been decided by the Pan-London Admissions Board since 2011 and the scheme looks to make the process as simple and fair as possible for everyone in the capital.

Last year, Ofsted rated every school in Hounslow either "good" or "outstanding" and 13 primary schools, six secondary schools, and two Special Education Schools received the highest rating from inspectors.
