These pictures have been released by high street developers Ballymore taken at the start of the year.

The aerial pictures show the enormous scale of the construction site.

But it's already looking a lot different since these pictures were taken as buildings begin to take shape.

And watch out for another high-rise crane in Brentford!

Ballymore have given an update on what will be happening next on the site of the redevelopment.

The company says the construction of the basements in Plots B and C will continue – including installation of drainage, construction of foundation pile caps and ground beams, and the pouring of the reinforced concrete basement slab.

This month the third tower crane will also be erected and progression to Plot K will include the concrete frame construction continued up to the first and second floor.

The site, known as The Brentford Project, is now beginning to take shape for the massive development that will feature 800 new homes alongside 14,000 sq m of retail and 4,000 sq m of commercial space, in addition to new public realm – including an extended Thames path.

It will also incorporate 11 buildings and reinstate Brentford's historic connections to the water via a series of pedestrianised lanes and yards to reflect the town's integral role in London's industrial past.
