A terrific strike from Youri Tielemans helped Leicester secure an important three points and jump above Brentford to go ninth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Mathias Jørgensen levelled the scores for the home side, glancing a well-timed header into the back of the net on the sixty-minute mark.

Brentford then pushed to claim the winner but were caught on the break by the visitors, who countered at pace to score the winner.

Moving the ball quickly upfield to Patson Daka, Leicester outnumbered the Brentford defenders in attack and found James Maddison inside the box, who slid the ball home to secure a 2-1 win for the visitors.

Although a glorious day for football in West London, it was ultimately anguish for Brentford, who looked the brighter, more aggressive side for most of the match.

Similar to last week's defeat to Chelsea, execution was once again Brentford's downfall despite the Bees controlling the lion's share of possession to record nine attempts to Leicester's two in the first half.

Bees fans will also be concerned about the fitness of defender Ethan Pinnock who was substituted at halftime after suffering a knock in a collision with Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel inside the box.

All is not lost for unlucky Brentford

In his press conference on Friday, Thomas Frank said he wanted his side to play aggressive attacking football, and Brentford certainly took control of the match - even if the scoreline didn't show it.

Dominating Leicester for most of the first half, the Bees pressed high and were unlucky not to go 1-0 up early on, after Ivan Toney had a goal disallowed in the seventh minute for offside.

Alongside Brian Mbeuno, Toney's presence inside the box called goalkeeper Kasper Schmeicel into action on several occasions, but frustratingly for Brentford, they failed to convert.

Much against the run of play, Youri Tielemans connected with a loose ball on the edge of the box and hammered a phenomenal strike into the top right corner of the goal to break the deadlock.

That gave Leicester the edge in the match, but it was Brentford who still looked more dangerous and continued to ask questions of the Leicester back three.

Sergi Canos and Frank Onyenka diligently worked the ball upfield to sling an excellent cross into Toney on the six-yard box.

Meeting the ball with his head, the striker forced a miraculous save from Kasper Schmeichel, almost pulling the Bees back into the game.

Two changes came at half time with Kristoffer Ajer coming on to replace the injured Ethan Pinnock, while the league's second joint scorer Jamie Vardy was replaced by Patson Daka, who later became a crucial component of Leicester's winning goal.

But on the 60th-minute mark, Brentford found a reward for their efforts through a header from Mathias Jørgensen, who pulled the Bees level, clipping the ball in from a corner.

With their tails up, Brentford continued to press on Brendan Rogers' side, and while the Foxes attacked, the Bees looked comfortable collecting the ball and working it back upfield into dangerous positions.

The West London side should have had a second goal soon after, with Pontus Jansson rising to meet an inswinging corner from Mathias Jensen, but just nicked his header wide of the Leicester goal.

Despite their best efforts in attack, Thomas Frank's side were caught out by a fast counter-attack that saw Patson Daka unselfishly square the ball to James Maddison, who tapped in on the 73rd-minute.

Brentford continued to press, but their frustrations once again saw them squander chances, while Leicester centre back Jonny Evans inspired his side to hold out for the win.

Even with seven minutes of added time, Brentford could not find a late equaliser and were unlucky not to get a result from this match.

Brentford travel to the bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night before they play away to Burnley on Saturday in the league.
