Brentford failed to break through at Anfield as Mohammed Salah and Diego Jota ran through the visitors.

A special afternoon for the Egyptian forward as he registered his 200th goal in English football with a first-half chance slotted past Mark Flekken and a second-half header to make it 10 goals for Salah this season.

Jota joined Salah on the goal sheet with a sublime effort where he cut inside, leaving substitute Frank Onykea behind, curling it past Flekken from distance late in the second-half.

The game started off scrappy from both sides at first as they looked for their rhythm, with Darwin Nunez providing the first chance for Liverpool off of a Salah pass which saw the Uruguayan's shot saved by Flekken at his near post in the 15'.

Shortly after in the 21', Nunez got it past Flekken to put Liverpool up, but his goal was ruled off for offside by the on field linesman.

It didn't take long for Nunez to find the back of the net again in the 26' with his overhead kick, but again ruled off for offside.

Brentford's first clear chance of the game after holding off Liverpool came in the 31', which saw Bryan Mbeumo go one-on-one with Alison Becker after Mathias Jensen finds the forward with his well timed through ball, but Alison stood tall to save Mbeumo's shot and keep it at 0-0.

After eight shots and five on target, Liverpool got the opener in the 38' through Salah as he is played in behind by Nunez to guide it into the far post to make it 1-0.

Just before half-time, Liverpool have a chance to extend their lead with Nunez getting himself through on goal but, Nathan Collins did well to time his tackle and stop Nunez.

First chance of the second-half for Brentford comes from a free kick in the 50' where Mathias Jensen's strike was tipped over the bar by Alison.

In the 62', Salah secured his 200th goal in English football after Kostas Tsimikas kept the ball in play with his cross which found Salah at the back post to head it in.

Liverpool make it three in the 73' after Jota curled it past Flekken to get his fourth goal of the season and make it difficult for Brentford to try and mount a comeback.

Luis Diaz made a brief appearance for Liverpool off of the bench in the 82' as The Colombian played his first game since the rescue of his Dad from the National Liberation Army last week.

Liverpool win 3-0 as Brentford lose their two game win streak and drop to tenth in the league.

Mbeumo's first half chance where he was one-on-one with Alison was Brentford's best chance of the game, as The Bees failed to be clinical against an excellent Liverpool side.

Brentford are back at the Gtech Community Stadium after the international break against Arsenal on 25 November at 5:30pm.

Liverpool head to Manchester on the same day to face City at 12:30pm.
