Brentford Women had to endure cup final heartbreak as they were defeated 3-0 in the Capital Cup final against Dorking Wanderers Women.
The sides went into the break all square as a cagey opening 45 minutes ended with neither side able to break the deadlock.
However, Dorking came out strong after the break as goals from Charlotte Keenan, Xayla-Rae Edwards, and Gemma Shepherd saw them crowned champions.
A third defeat of the season against Dorking for the Bees sees them come up just short in the cup and they will now set their sights on promotion from the L&SEWFL Division One North.
The only chance of real note in the first half came after 14 minutes when Chloe Logie pounced on indecision in the Dorking backline and stole in beyond the defenders to get to the ball first and lift it over Jenna Morris, but onto the roof of the net.
Nikki Saunders decided to try her luck from distance shortly after half time and the goalkeeper had to quickly backpedal as the shot skipped off the surface but just wide of the target.
Dorking took the lead nine minutes into the second half when link-up between the front two saw Keenan flicked in behind the Brentford rear-guard and she delicately lifted the ball over Freya Walker, and it rolled into the net before Regan Graver could catch up.
Eleonora Cottrell was left ruing missed chances after Logie got in down the side and played the ball into her on the six-yard box, but Cottrell lifted the ball over the top with her first-time effort.
There was a touch of magic about Dorking's second goal as Edwards beat Mollie Holmes to the ball on the edge of the box and flicked it round her to go through on goal, before cooly slotting into the bottom corner.
Logie was still causing problems and her persistence on the edge of the penalty area saw her find a bit of space in the box, but she could not get enough power behind her shot and Morris pushed it to safety.
The game was wrapped up with five minutes to play when Shepherd had a free-kick five yards outside the box and curled it to the goalkeeper's side and deceived Walker to find the bottom corner.
Brentford desperately searched for an unlikely comeback that was not forthcoming as Chloe Webb forced Morris to tip her speculative free kick over the top from 30 yards out.
