Goal either side of half-time saw Brentford Women earn a big 2-0 win away against Clapton Community in the L&SEWFL Division One North.
Nikki Saunders scored a stunning individual goal right before half-time to give the Bees the lead against the league leaders.
Chloe Logie then notched a second midway through the second period to wrap up a massively important three points.
Coming out on top in the battle of the division's top two is a massive result, to cut the gap to one point to Clapton, with a game in hand.
Brentford could have raced into a lead after four minutes when Mollie Holmes played Logie through on goal, but her finish flashed wide of the upright.
The early spell of control continued for the Bees when Saunders found space outside the area and forced Jalina Bell into a good stop to deny her.
The width of the post was all that separated Brentford from getting the opener after 31 minutes when Kirsty Matthews shrugged off a defender and had a dig from the top of the box, and her effort crashed off the post and bounced to safety.
Clapton immediately went up the other end and had Azza Fouly concerned for the first time when Maria Mendon chopped inside off the left and looked to pick out the far top corner, but her shot went wide of the mark.
With one minute remaining in the opening 45 Brentford took the lead, Saunders set off on a mazy dribble as she ghosted past two defenders on the left before coming inside and hitting one of her trademark strikes high into the back of the net.
Six minutes into the second half, Matthews flicked a pass over the top for Logie to chase, she got to the ball first, but her strike took a nick off a defender and spun wide of the post.
Clapton nearly restored parity after an hour when substitute Marta Perez stole a march on the defenders in the middle to get on the end of a cross and the best efforts of Fouly were required to get down to the shot to deny her.
After 71 minutes Brentford finally got some breathing room as Holmes clipped a ball over the top, and Logie, who had had the beating of Clapton for pace all afternoon, raced away and this time made no mistake with her finish to head it beyond Bell.
The hosts did have the ball in the back of the net a few minutes later as Marta Cajanovas turned the ball beyond Fouly, but she had strayed offside in the build-up.
