Thorgills has a proud track record of supporting the local community and now Brentford Nub News is delighted to announce the estate agent as its exclusive property sponsor.
The estate agent has a team of more than 30 people covering a selection of departments from Property Marketing to an experienced Sales force covering sales and lettings, to a Client Support team who help with tenancy and sales progression, as well as a Renewals, Property Management and Accounts team.
The team is made up of local residents and members of the wider West London community, led by Daniel Madden, Managing Director, who went to school in Brentford and has lived in West London his entire life.
Thorgills opened in 2008, and were based opposite Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre.
Having grown into a five-branch business covering the vast majority of West London, a couple of years ago they restructured to base everyone under one roof in what they regard as their Brentford super branch.
From this location they house Brentford and Isleworth's most successful sales team and a lettings department that still covers the vast majority of West London.
Director Ben Madden tried a number of jobs before he came into the estate agency business.
He said: "Honestly, I wouldn't describe myself as particularly inspired to join the industry. I tried a few different jobs when I left school and found myself working as a junior estate agent at the age of 21 and stuck with it. I liked the variety each day brought and the getting out and about, meeting different people.
"A few years later I set up Thorgills and it made complete sense to base the business around an area I know and love, and where my family and I have got so many relationships.
"We focus on specialists. Lots of agents operate under a different format, where they'll have one team member complete the vast majority of tasks.
"Whilst that works for the other agencies, we've found that our service levels can be improved if we have people with specialist skills covering off each area of the client journey.
"It means our training can be very specific, and we can ensure our team all work in a department that fits with what they enjoy. "
As Brentford undergoes huge redevelopment, especially with the regeneration of the high street by Ballymore, which will bring hundreds of homes, restaurants, bars and shops, what impact will there be on the local property market?
Ben said: "Brentford certainly is undergoing significant redevelopment, but to be fair it has been for the last 15 years, and we're all used to hearing Brentford described as 'up-and-coming', I guess now it's beginning to come to fruition.
"The Brentford Project will certainly change the landscape, and in regards to average property prices, it will have an impact, like any development of its size in a town as small as Brentford.
"Will it impact prices on properties in other areas of Brentford? Possibly, if there is an increase in supply then you could see a reduction in pricing, but likewise, if the commercial element of the site is managed well and it attracts popular traders, it could see Brentford spike in popularity, which in turn could see prices rise.
"Certainly, the landscape is changing and I know first-hand that Brentford's vast redevelopment is not always the most popular thing for local residents to see, but it is making Brentford a more attractive proposition, with buyers and tenants from outside the area considering Brentford a lot more than they used to. "
Ben believes Brentford is an attractive place to live and will go on improving.
He said: "Brentford is a surprisingly beautiful town with a real sense of community. It's relatively small in size, the fact that we have our own football team, and that so many of the residents are lifelong Brentfordians, makes this a great place to live. And of course, not forgetting the waterways and just how much green space surrounds us."
Ben said that looking at basic supply and demand, newbuild apartments are widely available throughout Brentford, whereas three-bedroom houses are in relative short supply.
Post lockdown spare rooms to work from and gardens have become significantly more important to would-be buyers
Being part of the community is at the heart of what Thorgills does.
Ben said: "We try to get involved with as much locally as we can. This month we're raising awareness for the Scout hut used by the 6th Brentford Air Scout Group, which is currently raising money to repair its roof, or it may be forced close its doors. "
Money can be donated to the scout group here
Commenting on Thorgills becoming the property sponsor of Brentford Nub News, Ben said: "We decided Nub News was the perfect partner for Thorgills because local, community-based interactions sit at the heart of what we do.
"As times change, it's nice to remember that local news is as important as it's ever been, and anything that helps deliver it in a transparent and respectful way, can only be a good thing."
Karl Hancock, CEO of Nub News, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with a local business such as Thorgills.
"Its values are echoed throughout Nub News and we are so pleased to be working with the team and helping our readers find a home with Thorgills." Thorgills Thorgills are at 44 Brentford High Street.Phone: 020 89949886
