Work is well underway to redevelop the waterside at the new high street development.

A technique known has piling has begun to seal off the canal and create space that will eventually become a communal area known as Workhouse Dock.

Shops, bars and restaurants will be situated directly by the waterside as part of Ballymore's redevelopment which will see 800 new homes on the site and a new Morrisons supermarket.

Ballymore said: "We have started work on bringing Workhouse Dock back into use as the sheet piling around this area commences – bringing it a step closer to reconnecting Brentford with its historical canal heritage."

The development at the south of the high street is now a full-scale construction site with four high-rise cranes now in operation.
