Events coming up in Brentford

Thursday: Home Exhibition

Documenting everyday life lived almost exclusively in domestic spaces, these works respond creatively to sudden and increased restrictions and limitations.

As home increasingly became a space where we worked, socialised and learned during lockdown, it also inspired new creative outputs.

From using family as subjects of portraits, to recording the moments of connection using digital tools, these beautiful and often poignant images capture experiences that many of us will recognise.

Saturday: Old Isleworth Market

Local independent businesses; cakes, curries, flowers, plants, fudge, Mexican street food, sourdough, artisan bread, jams, chutneys, ceramics, cards and hand made crafts.

Elaine Samuels will be providing the live music at the Old Isleworth Market, with a mixture of her own songs and favourite covers!

Find Old Isleworth Market on Shrewsbury Walk off South Street, TW7 7DE between 10am and 2pm.

Sunday: Printing workshop - Blind embossing and debossing

Unusual for the time, Hogarth made many of his own prints. Learn more about printing and the processes that went into making the prints you see on display in the House.

Each workshop will cover Hogarth as a printmaker, the blind embossing and debossing technique and a hands-on opportunity to print one of your own unique designs with our intaglio printing press.

Blind embossing and debossing involves no ink, but is no less stunning! Using shapes and lines, each participant can create and take home both their plate and embossed/debossed design.

Book your place here.
