Beavers Outdoor Cinema

Thursday, Sept 9 – Encanto; Wednesday, Sept 14 – Grease; Wednesday, Sept 28 - West Side Story (2021).

Come along with your friends and family to enjoy open air films without breaking the bank! An annual event created for and by local people.

Tickets cost just £2 per adult, 50p per child or £4.50 for a family of four.

The event featuring classic sing-a-long movies takes place at the Beavers Estate at The Blue Football Cage (next to The Hub).

It kicks off on Thursday with Disney's Encanto, to be followed in the coming weeks by Grease and the 2021 version of West Side Story.

Syon Bark!

Saturday, Sept 10

For the first time ever, Syon Park opens its gardens to dogs in a special event that runs from 9am to 1pm.

A pawfect day is promised as the area's many dog lovers finally get the option to explore the grounds with their pets.

The team will be handing out poo bags, treats and there'll be water for thirsty doggies.

The event, which comes with a fee of £1 per dog, is all in aid of Woodgreen Animal Charity.

Watermans Arts Centre – National Theatre Live

Thursday, Sept 8, 7pm – Live screening of Much Ado About Nothing

Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd) and John Heffernan (Dracula) lead the cast in Shakespeare's romcom of sun, sea and mistaken identity.

The legendary family-run Hotel Messina on the Italian Riviera has been visited by artists, celebrities and royalty. But when the owner's daughter weds a dashing young soldier, not all guests are in the mood for love.

When seamstress Mimì meets the struggling writer Rodolfo they are instantly drawn together. But Paris is a city of hardship as well as love, as the two young Bohemians and their friends soon discover.

Exchange, Twickenham

Sunday, Sept 10 – All-star show featuring some of the biggest names in British comedy.

A night of the best of British – and Australian - comedy starring TV favourites Adam Hills of The Last Leg, Rosie Jones, Kerry Godliman and Michelle Shaughnessy.

It is being organised by TV's Mark Olver on behalf of the family of a TV industry friend's family, who live in Twickenham.

He said: "My friend is one of the most loved people in TV, her work makes some of those comedy shows we all know and love.

"Her teenage son is facing some incredible challenges and is being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

"They live locally to The Exchange so this is the perfect venue to celebrate and support them."

The money from the gig will be split between creating a fund for her son to live his best teenage life and the Royal Marsden.

Adam Hills encouraged people from the area to buy a ticket, adding: "This gig has been organised to help the son of one of the loveliest people in the TV industry. With some brilliant comedians.

"I'm so happy to be a part of it and would love you to come along if you are nearby to help support a friend and her family."

Saturday, Sept 10 – Live Music - John the Piano

'John the piano' returns to The Brewery Tap every Saturday from 5pm until 7pm, playing popular melodies from different eras.

Until Nov 1 – Ruins in Reverse

This short film by Olena Newkryta is shot in a steppe landscape in southern Ukraine and follows the process of transformation of an abandoned Soviet residential apartment building.

Runfest – Kew Gardens

Saturday/Sunday, Sept 10-11.

The celebration of running consists of six different distanced events, with 10,000 runners, a music stage, food and a fitness expo.

The focus of the events will be the beautiful settings of Kew Gardens and Old Deer Park.

The Saturday events include the Richmond AIR 10K through the Botanical gardens, the WWF kids mile at Old Deer Park, the Visit Cayman Islands Sundown 5K run.

The marathon and half marathon on Sunday begin at Kew and take a circular route through Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington, through to Kingston and Hampton Court back to Old Deer Park.

Until Sept 18 - Food Forever

Step into the future of food at Kew's event of the summer and discover how we can transform our planet for good through four new art installations and a major exhibition.

There will also be a whole host of talks, guest menus by inspiring chefs as well as weekend drop-in workshops and activities.

There's even a daily free walking tour about edible plants and the future of food in a changing climate.
