The Harder They Come 19 - 24 August
he Harder They Come celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The film is famed for introducing reggae and the Jamaican culture to the world at the time of its original release back in the early 70's.
Jimmy Cliff brings a knockout soundtrack and charisma aplenty to this classic crime drama. Jimmy Cliff stars as the struggling artist singer Ivanhoe Martin who arrives in the capital city of Jamaica, Kingston. Who meets a record producer who allows him to record his single 'The Harder They Come' However they have a disagreement and Ivanhoe is forced to turn to petty crime in order to pay the bills.
Eiffel 19 - 25 August
Having just finished his collaboration on the Statue of Liberty, celebrated engineer Gustave Eiffel is on top of the world.
Now, the French government is pressuring him to design something spectacular for the 1889 Paris World Fair, but Eiffel simply wants to design the subway. Suddenly, everything changes when Eiffel crosses paths with a mysterious woman from his past. Their long lost, forbidden passion inspires him to change the Paris skyline forever.
