Events coming up in Brentford
Thursday: Watermans Cinema
Unwind at Watermans with one of the array of films now showing.
Among the critics top picks is The Duke, a true story of 60-year-old taxi driver Kempton Bunton who stole Goya's portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London.
Greater Freedom is an alternative on screen at Watermans at 7pm. In post-war Germany liberation by the Allies does not mean freedom for everyone. Hans has been found guilty for his homosexuality, deemed grounds for imprisonment under Paragraph 175. As Hans returns to prison again and again, he develops an unlikely bond with his cellmate Viktor, a convicted murderer. What begins as revulsion blossoms over time into something far more tender.
