VISITORS entering Brentford will now be greeted by two new signs.

On Friday, June 25, two new signs were erected, welcoming visitors to "Brentford, the Historic 'County Town' of Middlesex".

One is placed at the junction of Commerce Road and Brentford Bridge, as you enter from Isleworth, while the other is as you turn left into Brentford from Kew Bridge.

Leader of Hounslow Council, Steve Curran described them as 'just a little reminder to everyone of where they are'.

Russell Grant, President of Middlesex Heritage, took to Facebook to share the news and state how 'delighted' he was that Hounslow Council had kept its promise to raise the signs and described it as 'brilliant news'.

He said: "I am delighted to tell you that Tom Fidler, Chair of Spelthorne Heritage and myself as President of Middlesex Heritage have the most brilliant news to tell you.

"We received an e-mail this morning from Cllr Steve Curran, Leader of Hounslow Council who, as promised last Middlesex Day, would raise signs in Brentford as the Historic County Town of Middlesex and true to his word here they are."
