'The Dark Destroyer' from ITV's The Chase, joined prominent academics and experts at the University of West London (UWL) to debate big issues facing the future, as part of Black History Month.
The talk coincides with the launch of UWL's MA in Global Black Studies starting this fall.
The year-long course will explore global culture and identity, the black impact on literature and science, and contemporary debates around white privilege and race within policing and the social justice system.
The 'hard-hitting' online session was led by the University's Professor William 'Lez' Henry – an expert and campaigner of social justice and the Black British experience.
'Lez' Henry hosted the event on Friday 1 October, which saw speakers including the barrister Dr Shaun Wallace, also known as The Dark Destroyer on ITV's The Chase', Esther Onola Ademosu - founder of The Black Knowledge Society, international journalist Henry Bonsu, and writer Nairobi Thompson.
Dr Sharon Cahill, Head of UWL's School of Human and Social Sciences, said: "We are really pleased to host so many experts and campaigners to share their insight into what are hugely important and complex issues as part of Black History Month.
"We want to offer thought-provoking and relevant topics for debate across the community, and in this event along with the new postgraduate course here at the University, we can continue to have a major part in the discussions that will bring about greater understanding and social change.
The free event was on Friday October 1 from 5pm.
