The Thames Water works on Acton Lane are to be completed at the end of November after weeks of traffic chaos.
Adding to the problems has been the creation of a cycleway which is also set to be finished later this month which should improve traffic flow.
Cllr Hanif Khan, Cabinet Member for Transport and One Hounslow, said: "I share the frustrations of road users at the congestion caused by Thames Water's ongoing works on Acton Lane.
"It has been difficult for residents living in or travelling through the area.
"We've been listening to everyone affected, and monitoring the situation closely, as our changes to Thames Water's traffic management plans two weeks ago made clear.
"We have spoken to Thames Water again this week and are pleased to report they have told us that works are on course for completion by the mid-November.
"Cycleway 9 is also expected to be completed by TfL later this month, so we will see improvements for traffic flows on Chiswick High Road as temporary road signals begin being removed next week."
