The Currys store in Brentford will be included in a new rapid delivery trial which will see the electrical retailer and Uber join forces.
Currys and delivery service Uber announced the new service yesterday, which will put tech on the takeaway menu, enabling customers to order tech items and get them delivered fast.
The collaboration will help deliver small tech to Londoners, getting products from stores to shoppers in as little as 30 minutes – with a £5 delivery charge.
The initial trial is being rolled out in 15 Currys stores across London, including Brentford, with a view to extending across the UK.
The tech and delivery giants said they are responding to growing consumer demand for speed and convenience, to deliver tech purchases into the homes of Londoners.
During the pilot, which will run for three months, shoppers using Currys' website can choose from 1,800 tech items, including headphones, printer cartridges, laptops and phone chargers, delivered by Uber's network of couriers who use the app.
The venture is Uber's biggest UK retailer partnership to date.
Stores in the London trial include: Chingford, South Ruislip, Croydon, West Drayton, Colliers Wood, Enfield, Hayes Staples Corner, Brentford, Friern Barnet, Old Kent Road, Kensington, Brixton, Wembley Stadium and Oxford Street.
To order, customers must visit the Currys website, or Currys app and opt for same day delivery at the checkout.
They will be able to order up until two hours before store closing time.
The 1,800 products on offer via the service are all under 7kg and have to meet set dimensions.
This new service will launch the week of 15 November.
