Seema Malhotra, MP for Feltham and Heston, spoke out against the conduct of management at the Royal Mail through their handling of their worker strike during a debate in Parliament.
During the Westminster Hall Debate on the Royal Mail, Malhotra criticised the way the management of the Royal Mail had operated during the strike and condemned intimidation of workers.
Members of the Communication Workers Union in the Royal Mail have been striking off and on since August 2022 and Malhotra was critical of the way this strike had been handled.
She said during the debate: "It has been concerning to hear reports of intimidation by Royal Mail of striking workers, if this is correct, even in a small number of cases, it is under no circumstances acceptable and I do ask the Minister to put on record his and the government's condemnation of any intimidation.
"Frankly, Royal Mail's essential workers, who I know take such pride in their jobs, should not have felt driven to take industrial action for a fairer deal.
"It is positive that the CWU and Royal Mail are now in a period of intensive negotiation. The country will expect a fair negotiated deal and an end to this dispute."
Malhotra subsequently reiterated this stance on Twitter, that workers deserved a better deal than they were being given.
Malhotra also stated that Labour would not consider reducing the Universal Service Obligation, which would roll back the necessity of the Royal Mail to deliver mail six days a week for a uniform price.
She said: "Royal Mail's staff are essential workers, and they deliver a vital service to millions up and down the country.
"The Government must ask serious questions of Royal Mail's management, and their request to reduce their service obligation. Also under question is the management's handling of the current industrial dispute.
"Royal Mail's essential workers should not have been driven to taking industrial action, and the Government must ensure their management remain at the negotiating table to offer the CWU and their members a fairer deal.
"Labour will not support any reduction of the Universal Service Obligation, and will continue to work for a long-term, successful future for Royal Mail."
