The search is on to find a new home for one of Brentford's best-loved restaurants.

Albany Spice's current building faces demolition when the estate undergoes massive regeneration.

Councillor Guy Lambert confirmed at a council meeting this week that the building would be a casualty of the bulldozers.

He said at this week's cabinet meeting: "There are always casualties in these things and one of the casualties will be Albany Spice, one of my favourite local restaurants - so can we make sure we find a new home for it?'

Council leader Steve Curran replied: "We'll certainly do our best."

One possibility mooted is for the restaurant to move to the soon-to-be-vacated Barclays building on Brentford High Street.

Barclays is to close the branch in the summer.
